Three Stooges DVD

American vaudeville may have its roots in the stage shows of the late 19th and early 20th century, but it was brought to the masses in the form of The Three Stooges. At its start, The Three Stooges was made up of brothers Moe and Shemp Howard, as well as Larry Fine. Shemp was replaced for a while by his brother, Curly Howard, but when Curly suffered a stroke, Shemp returned to the trio. Regardless of which trio appeared, the many Three Stooges movies have been treasured through the ages. TheVintageTheatre.com is proud to be able to offer an excellent and extensive Three Stooges DVD collection, containing 27 discs with 120 episodes, and 78 bonus cartoons. This collection is a must have for any Three Stooges fan!

The Three Stooges found its start in 1925 as part of a vaudeville act called "Ted Healy and His Stooges". Moe and Shemp, and later Larry, would interrupt Healy's act, and he would respond with the slapstick violence that would later become a trademark feature of The Three Stooges. Moe, Shemp and Larry starred in a film with Healy called "Soup to Nuts" and were generally considered to have stolen the show. The three were offered a contract without Healy, which led to some discord among the group. Shemp eventually left the group in frustration over Healy's behavior towards the trio, and was replaced by Joe Howard, Shemp and Moe's younger brother. The new crew was offered a contract to begin making shorts, the first of which - Woman Haters - is featured on the Three Stooges DVD collection.

The Three Stooges went on to make almost 200 short movies, as well as featuring in various other forms of entertainment. They made several television pilots, and appeared in show called "The New Three Stooges" which features short live action segments and animated shorts. They also made appearances in two Scooby-Doo movies, "Ghastly Ghost Town" and "The Ghost of the Red Baron", which led to the creation of "The Robonic Stooges", which portrayed the Stooges as superheroes with bionic limbs. Even today, the Stooges are finding new life, with mobisodes (episodes created specificially for viewing on cellphones) being planned for the near future. The Three Stooges DVD collection features movie shorts and cartoon gems featuring this beloved trio.

Despite nearly a century of time between the start of The Three Stooges and today, the legacy of this comedic group is still strong today. The Three Stooges enjoy something of a cult status today, finding new fans in new forms every day. Whether it's the over-the-top slapstick humor or the bizarre situations that the Stooges always seem to find themselves in, The Three Stooges can still make us laugh until it hurts. If you want to recapture the magic and mania of one of the world's most beloved comedy acts, The Three Stooges DVD collection is the perfect way to do it.
